Iran Dismisses the UK Security Chief’s Allegations as Baseless

In a strongly worded statement, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London dismissed the anti-Iranian allegations made by the Director General of the British Security Service (MI5) as unfounded and irresponsible, advising the British side to adopt a responsible and constructive approach instead of repeating groundless accusations.

The statement reads: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while expressing its strong protest and categorical rejection of the recent remarks by the Director General of the British Security Service (MI5), made on October 15, 2025, firmly refutes the unfounded and hostile allegations contained in these statements, including claims regarding the alleged involvement of the Islamic Republic of Iran in so-called ‘lethal plots’ or ‘cross-border aggressive activities.’ These baseless and irresponsible allegations are part of a continuous process of distortion aimed at misrepresenting the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and undermining bilateral diplomatic relations.”

The statement adds: “As repeatedly emphasized in the Embassy’s official statements, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran categorically denies any involvement in violent acts, abductions, or harassment of individuals in the United Kingdom or elsewhere. These allegations have been made without the presentation of credible evidence and are inconsistent with Iran’s continuing commitment to international law, the principle of sovereign equality, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence and international cooperation.”

The Director General of the British Security Service (MI5) claimed on Thursday, as part of ongoing anti-Iran propaganda and without presenting any credible evidence, that the country’s security forces had thwarted 20 operations allegedly linked to Iran over the past year.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London called on the British government “to refrain from making or escalating baseless accusations, and instead to adopt a responsible and constructive approach based on dialogue and mutual respect, so that shared security concerns may be resolved through legal and diplomatic means.”

The statement concludes: “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms its readiness to engage in such dialogue and reiterates its commitment to upholding international norms and promoting peaceful international relations.”
