India’s Coast Guard Seizes Three Iranian Oil Tankers in International Waters

According to Rokna, these oil tankers had been sanctioned by the United States in 2025 and were owned by a single company.

According to the report, India’s Coast Guard announced that yesterday it seized three oil tankers linked to Iran, which were under U.S. sanctions, in international waters near the city of Mumbai, on charges of illegal activities such as selling oil at discounted prices and smuggling oil.

These vessels are part of the so-called “shadow fleet” and, according to the relevant documentation, had been included on the U.S. sanctions list.
