Iran-U.S. Tensions: Several European Countries Advise Citizens to Leave Iran

According to Rokna, Sweden and Serbia have urged their citizens to leave Iran. This follows rising tensions between Iran and the United States and the potential for a U.S. military strike against Iran. Previously, Poland issued a similar advisory.

Western media have reported unofficially that the United States is increasing weapons and military personnel in the region, alongside discussing potential strikes against Iran.

According to these reports, U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet decided to attack Iran. On Friday, he stated that limited military strike options against Iran are under consideration.

Sweden Advises Citizens: Leave Iran

Sweden’s Foreign Minister stated that “the situation in Iran and the region is highly uncertain.”

According to Anadolu Agency, Maria Malmer Stenergard, Sweden’s Foreign Minister, urged her citizens on Friday to leave Iran. Stenergard wrote on X: “The situation in Iran and the region is highly uncertain. Therefore, I want to emphasize the importance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ advice not to travel to Iran and the urgent request for Swedish citizens currently in the country to depart immediately.”

She added that travel by air and border crossings is still possible, urging Swedes to leave Iran while opportunities remain.

Stenergard further emphasized: “Significant personal responsibility lies with those who choose to remain in Iran. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not be able to assist with evacuation from Iran.”

This warning comes after U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday, without providing details, that a limited military strike against Iran is under consideration.

Serbia Requests Citizens to Leave Iran

Following Trump’s threat of military action against Iran, the government of Serbia urged its citizens in Iran to leave the country “as quickly as possible.”

Serbia, a European country in the Balkans with Belgrade as its capital, maintains good relations with Iran.

Earlier, the United States and several European countries, including Germany, Poland, Belgium, Italy, and Spain, had advised their citizens to leave Iran promptly.

With the rising possibility of war between Iran and the United States, military and political analysts warn that such a conflict could spread to the Gulf countries and potentially beyond.
