Message of a New Alliance in Beijing: Presence of Leaders from Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea at Military Parade + Video
Rokna Political Desk: Beijing witnessed on Tuesday one of the largest military parades in the history of China; an event held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Tiananmen Square. The simultaneous presence of leaders from China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran turned it into a historic and symbolic scene of the formation of a new world order.
According to Rokna at the event, Chinese President Xi Jinping stood alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. More importantly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was also present; marking his first participation in such an international event since the beginning of his presidency and symbolizing Iran’s alignment with countries critical of Western hegemony.
Display of Power and Political Messages
The parade featured thousands of soldiers and advanced Chinese weaponry, including hypersonic missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear capability, undersea drones, and long-range missile systems. Simultaneously, fighter jets flew overhead, and white doves were released, presenting a combination of “peace and power.”
International analysts considered this gathering a direct message to Washington and its Western allies. For Moscow, the event was an opportunity for Putin to demonstrate support from a major Asian power amid the war in Ukraine. For Pyongyang, it was a chance to consolidate its position alongside two powerful allies. For Beijing, it emphasized China’s central role in shaping a multipolar future.
Iran’s Strategic Dimension
The presence of the Iranian president alongside the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea carried special significance. This participation not only indicated the strengthening of Tehran-Beijing strategic partnership but also symbolically demonstrated that Iran is consolidating its position within a bloc formed to redefine global power balances.
From analysts’ perspective, this move aligns with the Islamic Republic’s overarching policy of expanding relations with the East and reducing dependency on the West. President Pezeshkian’s presence at such a high-profile display of global power sent a clear message to Western parties: Iran is moving toward a new international order alongside Asian powers.
The Beijing parade was more than a commemorative ceremony; it was a strategic declaration—a demonstration of unity among powers seeking to change the rules of the global game. The presence of leaders from Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea together signaled that global dynamics are moving away from a unipolar order toward a multipolar system led by the East, in which Iran is defining an active role for itself.
