Iran-US Talks to Be Held in Oman on Friday

According to Rokna’s translation group, citing CNN, while Oman, Turkey, and several other countries have expressed readiness to host the new round of Iran-US talks, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the final location will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, sources speaking to Axios claimed that the Iranians have altered their stance regarding the agreements reached in recent days after multiple countries were invited to participate in the negotiations. According to these sources, Iran intends to relocate the talks from Istanbul to Oman.

Axios also alleged: “They (the Iranians) now also want the negotiations to be bilateral, involving only the United States, instead of several Arab and Muslim countries participating as observers.”

One source claimed that the reason for this is that the Iranians wish to limit the talks to nuclear issues and avoid discussions on missile programs and resistance groups.

An Arab source speaking to Axios claimed that the negotiations are expected to be held in Oman on Friday and that the Trump administration has agreed to Iran’s request. The source added that discussions regarding the participation of other regional countries in the Oman talks are ongoing.

The White House has declined to comment.

Earlier, Caroline Lewitt, the White House press secretary, told reporters that she had spoken with Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s representative, regarding developments in the Persian Gulf and Iran’s new requests. She stated: “Negotiations with Iran are currently scheduled. As far as we are concerned, the talks will continue later this week.”

Lewitt claimed that Trump is “committed” to pursuing diplomacy first but keeps all options on the table.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the media that locations, including Turkey and Oman, are under consideration, and that the timing and venue of the talks “should not be used as bait in media games.”

Witkoff and Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, are expected to lead the two negotiating teams. Araqchi held calls on Tuesday with his Omani and Turkish counterparts, as well as with the Prime Minister of Qatar.

Meanwhile, Witkoff met with Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, in the occupied territories. Israeli officials stated that the meeting was focused on Iran and that Netanyahu was accompanied by Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli army; David Barnea, Mossad chief; and Shlomi Binder, head of military intelligence.
