White House: Israel Has the Right to Defend Itself! / Peace Is on the Horizon

Caroline Lewitt, spokesperson for the White House, announced that President Donald Trump is optimistic about reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Rokna, citing Fox News, Lewitt stated that the negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva over the weekend were “very constructive.”

She added, “Only a few points of disagreement remain, which the teams are working on. The President remains hopeful and optimistic that an agreement will be reached.”

Lewitt also emphasized that Trump has exerted pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reach an agreement to end the war.

She further dismissed media reports regarding a possible trip by Zelensky to Washington, stating that a meeting between the Ukrainian President and Trump is not scheduled for this week.

The White House spokesperson also stated that claims of Trump favoring one side in the Russia-Ukraine war are inaccurate.

In response to a question regarding terrorist attacks by Israel against Hezbollah members and the killing of Hezbollah commander Haitham Tabatabai, Lewitt claimed, “I have not specifically discussed this attack with the President, but he supports Israel’s actions to defend itself and counter any terrorist threats.”

This claim comes amid repeated violations of the ceasefire by Israel and attacks on Lebanese territory.

Lewitt also addressed Venezuela, describing the government of Nicolás Maduro as “illegitimate.”

The White House spokesperson claimed that the U.S. President is satisfied with the “successful operations against narco-terrorists who illegally traffic drugs into the United States,” and that such operations will continue.

Previously, human rights organizations had described U.S. attacks on boats in the Caribbean as “extrajudicial executions.”

Lewitt further claimed that the U.S. President has halted funding for the war in Ukraine.

On early Tuesday, Caroline Lewitt stated that the United States cannot continue indefinitely selling weapons and military equipment to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

In an interview with Fox News, Lewitt asserted, “President Donald Trump has stopped financing this war [in Ukraine].”

She explained further, “However, the U.S. still sells a significant volume of arms to NATO or is currently sending them. We cannot continue this indefinitely.”
