Trump’s Unusual Turn; Military Threat or Negotiations with Maduro?

Amid increasing military preparedness in the Caribbean, U.S. President Donald Trump said that America might engage in talks with Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela.

According to Rokna, citing Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump, on Sunday local time in Florida and before boarding a plane to return to Washington, told reporters: “We may have some talks with Maduro, and we’ll see how it goes.”

Trump did not provide further details regarding the potential negotiations with Maduro. His expression of willingness to engage in talks comes while the U.S. accuses Maduro of involvement in illegal drug trafficking, an allegation that Maduro denies. On Friday, Trump stated that he had nearly reached a decision regarding Venezuela.
