Details of New U.S. Attack on a Boat off Venezuela’s Coast

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that American forces had launched a new operation off Venezuela’s coast in which six individuals lost their lives.

According to Rokna, Trump claimed that the targeted boat was linked to a “terrorist organization” and was intercepted Tuesday morning under the U.S. Southern Command’s jurisdiction. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated: “Intelligence confirmed that this vessel was involved in drug trafficking, connected to illicit narco-terror networks, and was traveling along a known drug trafficking route.” He added, “The operation took place in international waters, and six narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed.”

This marks the fifth U.S. military attack on boats in the Caribbean in recent months. According to U.S. officials, the four previous operations resulted in a total of 21 deaths. In recent weeks, the United States has repeatedly used its military against boats off Venezuela, claiming that these vessels were used for drug trafficking. These operations have been repeatedly condemned by Venezuelan authorities and other international actors.
