Iraqi Politician: Use of Iraqi Airspace Against Iran Is Forbidden

According to Rokna, Abd al-Majid al-Dulaimi, a member of Iraq’s Al-Siyada Coalition, warned of the consequences of utilizing Iraqi airspace for an assault on Iran. He emphasized that such an action could have far-reaching negative implications for Iraq’s security and stability, potentially dragging the country into regional conflicts.

Al-Dulaimi stated that Iraq’s central government has tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with taking immediate and necessary measures to prevent the United States and the Israeli regime from using Iraqi airspace to launch attacks against Iran.

He noted that these movements are part of a Washington-led plan aimed at drawing Iraq into regional conflicts and pressuring the country to normalize relations with Tel Aviv, following the United States’ failure to compel the Baghdad government to recognize the Israeli regime.

He added that the Iraqi government has repeatedly affirmed its consistent stance of non-interference in neighboring countries’ affairs and its commitment to preventing the use of Iraqi territory and airspace to threaten regional security and stability.

The Al-Siyada Coalition member further asserted that the main objective of an Israeli attack on Iran is to eliminate Iran as a major power in the balance of power equation in the Middle East.

He warned that shifting the theater of conflict onto Iraqi soil is part of an Israeli scheme to destabilize Iraq and impose a normalization process on the country.
