Lapid to Netanyahu: Your Government Is Drowning in Corruption, Step Down
Rokna Political Desk: The leader of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing his government of corruption and urging him to resign over his failure to take responsibility for major national crises such as the October 7, 2023 Al-Aqsa Flood Operation.
The opposition leader delivered scathing remarks against Netanyahu, describing his administration as corrupt and unaccountable.
Yair Lapid, leader of the Israeli opposition, said: “A new phenomenon of corruption has emerged in our society, and the latest example is the appointment of Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s son, to an official position.”
Addressing Netanyahu directly, Lapid declared: “Anyone who refuses to take responsibility for the great disaster of October 7, 2023 (the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation) cannot be trusted. Your government is corrupt, and the entire society knows it. If you cannot accept responsibility for what happened on October 7, you must step down. You do not work for the good of the state but only for the benefit of a group of corrupt individuals.”
Lapid further rebuked Netanyahu, saying: “Why did you not take action when the Israeli flag was set on fire during the ultra-Orthodox protests against mandatory military service? The refusal of the Haredim to serve in the military costs Israel 60 billion shekels annually (with 3.5 shekels equal to one U.S. dollar). Netanyahu takes no action because he does not want to anger his ruling coalition.”
