Rokna Reports:
Fire in Hyrcanian Forests in Elit Still Uncontrolled; Aerial Operations Continue in Marzanabad + Video
Rokna Social Desk: Twenty-two days after the outbreak of the fire in the Hyrcanian forests of the Elit region, the flames remain uncontained, with ground and aerial forces continuing efforts to control them.
Hassan Khazaipoul, a media activist on-site, reported to Rokna on the latest fire-fighting situation in the Hyrcanian forests of Elit, a district of Marzanabad in Chalus: “On the morning of Monday, 3 Azar 1404, we are present in the area, and although the fire has not been fully controlled, its intensity has decreased in various parts. Currently, several active hotspots are visible in the highlands and lower areas surrounding the village of Elit.”
Referring to the ongoing aerial operations, he added: “Helicopters of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are conducting fire-fighting missions. Despite the deployment of helicopters and aircraft sent from Turkey at Nowshahr Airport, they have not yet reached the Elit area but are expected to join the aerial operations within the next few hours.”
Khazaipoul further stated: “Weather conditions today are more favorable compared to previous days, and IRGC Il-76 aircraft with a 40-ton water capacity are spraying water across various paths in the region.”
