Cloud Theft: Are Turkey and Israel Stealing Clouds from Iran? Meteorology Chief Responds
Rokna Social Desk: The Head of Iran’s Meteorological Organization responded to circulating rumors about “cloud theft” by Turkey and Israel and provided clarifications regarding these claims.
Question: It has been suggested that cloud theft is occurring over our country.
Response: No, this is fundamentally not the case. Atmospheric systems contain immense amounts of energy. The idea that we could control or deliberately direct an atmospheric system toward another area does not seem to be accurate or reliable information. These claims are more pseudoscience than actual science.
Question: Do you accept the concept of cloud theft?
Answer: Essentially, cloud theft has no meaning.
Question: It has been said that clouds are being “dissolved” over Iran.
Answer: What do you mean?
Reporter: I don’t know.
Answer: I haven’t heard of such a thing, and in any case, if it were only over our region…
Reporter: You mean, for example, a cloud forms over our sky and someone uses a special system to remove it so that it does not produce rainfall.
Answer: Look, there are processes such as cloud seeding in which particles are injected into clouds either from the ground or by aircraft. If these substances are injected in excess, it can in fact have the opposite effect and destroy the cloud. However, the current issue that has caused drought and affected us is definitely not related to this.
