Russia’s Recommendation to the U.S. Regarding Iran
Rokna Political Desk: Russia has called on the United States and its allies to refrain from any military action against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities and announced its readiness to mediate between the two countries.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, while expressing readiness to mediate between Iran and the United States, urged Washington to refrain from any military action against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
According to Rokna, Dmitry Lyubinsky, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, said on Monday evening during a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter: “We call on the United States and its allies to abandon plans to attack Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.”
According to Sputnik News Agency, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized: “We strongly recommend that Washington provide firm guarantees against further military confrontation.”
He added: “Russia is ready to provide all necessary assistance to achieve a diplomatic solution regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.”
The remarks by the Russian diplomat come as the news website Axios reported that while General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, has warned President Donald Trump and U.S. officials about the “significant risks” of any military action against Iran, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has also raised concerns about the issue.
While Trump occasionally makes claims about military action against Iran, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy, and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, are scheduled to hold indirect talks with the Iranian delegation in Geneva on Thursday, focusing on the nuclear issue.
