Israel Prize Awarded to Trump
Rokna Political Desk: Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Donald Trump, President of the United States, will become the first American to receive Israel’s prestigious prize, an act that will break the decades-long tradition of the award.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday that Donald Trump will be the first American to receive the “Israel Prize,” thereby breaking the longstanding tradition regarding recipients of this award.
According to Rokna, citing Newsweek, Netanyahu, who is in the United States to meet Trump, said at a press conference in Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida: “President Trump has broken many traditions, and as a result, we have decided to break one tradition ourselves by awarding the Israel Prize, which has not been given to any non-Israeli for nearly 80 years, to President Trump this year.”
In response, Trump described the award as surprising and commendable.
It is worth noting that earlier this month, Trump had also received another award from FIFA. However, Trump believes that he should also be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts.
