“Sahand 2025” Anti-Terrorism Drill Begins
Rokna Political Desk: The joint anti-terrorism exercise of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), titled “Sahand-2025 Joint Anti-Terrorism Exercise,” has commenced in East Azerbaijan Province, hosted by the IRGC Ground Forces.
According to Rokna, Colonel Shahram Askariyan, Deputy for Public Relations of the IRGC Ground Forces, while announcing this news, stated that the “Sahand 2025” exercise—designed in accordance with the directive of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Executive Committee of the SCO Anti-Terrorism Structure—holds special strategic significance.
The Deputy for Public Relations of the IRGC Ground Forces, referring to the valuable record and actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in combating terrorism, said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a focal point in the fight against terrorism and terrorist groups, and more than 17,000 of our compatriots, including women and children, have been martyred by terrorists.”
It is noteworthy that this exercise began on Monday (Azar 10, 1404) for a duration of five days in the operational zone of the Imam Zaman (may God hasten his reappearance) Mechanized Brigade in Shabestar County.
Further details and the operational agenda of this drill will subsequently be announced to the media by the exercise commander, Brigadier General Vali Madani, Deputy for Operations of the IRGC Ground Forces.
