Syrian Capital in the Spotlight; The Presence of Three Global Powers in Damascus
Rokna Political Desk: The presence of intelligence delegations from Russia, Turkey, and representatives from the U.S. Congress in Damascus to examine security issues and the Caesar Act has turned the Syrian capital into an international focal point.
Al-Arabiya, citing certain sources, reported the presence of delegations from Russia, Turkey, and the United States in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
According to Fararu, Al-Arabiya cited sources indicating that the Syrian capital on Sunday witnessed the arrival of intelligence delegations from Russia and Turkey, which are expected to discuss and deliberate on security matters.
Al-Arabiya also reported, citing the same sources, that a delegation from the U.S. Congress is scheduled to examine and review security files, including matters related to the Caesar Act.
This development comes after Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House last Monday, during which Trump expressed appreciation for Al-Sharaa’s efforts in rebuilding Syria.
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department, following the initial suspension of the Caesar Act in May, which was nearing its expiration, has extended its suspension for another six months.
