Grossi: Iran Must Strengthen Its Cooperation with the IAEA
Rokna Political Desk: Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has called for Iran to significantly improve its cooperation with the Agency’s inspectors to ease growing tensions with the West.
Grossi said that Iran must take serious steps to enhance its collaboration with the IAEA inspectors, claiming that such measures are necessary to prevent further escalation with Western nations.
He made the remarks, according to the Financial Times, prior to Israel’s recent attack on Iran, when he had also aligned with Israeli positions by alleging that Tehran possessed enriched uranium sufficient to build six to seven nuclear bombs.
Grossi further referred to the complexity of Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, reportedly offering operational hints to the United States and Israel.
The IAEA chief, referring to the situation following the 12-day war, stated that while the Agency has conducted around a dozen inspections in Iran since that conflict, it has not been granted access to key nuclear facilities such as Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
