Stand Against Bullying by Countries Opposed to Friendly Iran-China Relations

According to the Government’s Information Portal, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, in the continuation of his official trip, during a meeting with Huang Hu, permanent member of the Chinese Communist Party, highlighted the importance of multilateral cooperation, describing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as an effective tool to counter unilateralism. He emphasized: humanity is thirsty for justice, fairness, and adherence to the law. Global civilization is based on the long-standing history and culture of countries such as Iran and China, and through these civilizations, nations can live with dignity. We have come together to strive for the rule of law, interaction, and mutual respect among countries and peoples.

Referring to the discussions in his meeting with the Chinese President, the Iranian President added: it was agreed that the important topics raised in that meeting would be followed up. The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to implement the agreements and operationalize them; it is necessary to stand against bullying and coercion by countries that do not wish for friendly relations with us.

Dr. Pezeshkian also emphasized during this meeting that the Supreme Leader has stressed the development of relations with China and has tasked us with pursuing this matter. He expressed hope that, with the establishment of a joint working group, agreements between the two countries would be rapidly implemented.

Huang Hu, for his part, expressed appreciation for the positive assessment of the Iranian President regarding the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin and stated: we are ready to operationalize your understandings with Mr. Xi Jinping. China, as it has supported Iran in the past, will also stand alongside Iran in matters related to sovereignty and national interests.

The permanent member of the Chinese Communist Party also noted the serious intention of both sides to expand practical cooperation and added: what the Chinese President has promised you will certainly be realized. Multilateral cooperation must be strengthened.

He further appreciated Iran’s support for the Global Governance Initiative, stating: China supports the credibility of the United Nations and the post-World War II international order and rejects bullying. China and Iran share common views in this regard, and this shared perspective facilitates the development of cooperation.
