Pezeshkian: Shanghai Summit Provides Platform to Strengthen Multilateralism and International Cooperation

According to Rokna, Masoud Poursina, who traveled to Tianjin, China to attend the 25th SCO Heads of State Summit, stated this morning (Tuesday, 11 Shahrivar 1404) while on the train to Beijing: “The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit offers an excellent opportunity for us to meet and hold discussions with the leaders of member countries. The SCO platform now hosts over 20 member states.”

He added: “On the sidelines of this summit, we held discussions with some country leaders. We also conducted several private sessions with certain heads of state. Additionally, these dialogues included coordination to enhance inter-country interactions, oppose unilateralism, and promote multilateralism. We discussed establishing global governance based on justice, fairness, respect for rights, and recognition of the sovereignty of all countries, both large and small.”

The President highlighted: “These discussions foster interactions across multiple common areas among countries, including technical, economic, scientific, artistic, and industrial fields. We are working to operationalize these initiatives. For example, we are striving to develop the country’s railway industry. We will continue discussions to connect the nation’s entire railway network, as rail transport is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly while capable of carrying larger loads.”

He emphasized: “If we can establish such a framework, we can both control traffic and advance national development. It is essential to achieve nationwide railway connectivity.”
