China Considers Relations with Iran a Diplomatic Priority
Rokna Political Desk: China regards its relations with Iran as a diplomatic priority in the Middle East and has emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation, sustainable development, and a fair resolution to Iran’s nuclear issue.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that ties with Iran remain a priority, noting that President Xi Jinping, during his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Beijing, underscored the need to bolster cooperation and pursue a just solution to the Iranian nuclear file.
According to Rokna, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, wrote on the social platform X on Monday evening:
“President Xi Jinping of China met with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran in Beijing. Iran-China relations have withstood global transformations and have consistently maintained stable and healthy development. China always places relations with Iran as a priority on its Middle Eastern diplomatic agenda and stands ready to work with Iran to advance friendship, deepen mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation across various fields.”
She further added:
“China will continue to defend justice and seek a solution to the Iranian nuclear issue that takes into account the legitimate concerns of all parties, ultimately contributing to the achievement of lasting peace in the Middle East.”
President Masoud Pezeshkian met with President Xi Jinping on Tuesday afternoon.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian emphasized that China can count on Iran as a strong and determined friend and ally, stressing that the fundamental and principal objective of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to stabilize and strengthen peace and security in the region. He underlined the need to prevent oppression, aggression, and unilateralism, adding that Iran aspires to a world where law and relations among states are based on equality, not coercion, imposition, or transgression.
The Iranian President, referring to the principled position of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reiterated that Iran is fully prepared and eager to expand comprehensive relations and cooperation with China. He added that Tehran is ready to cooperate with Beijing to implement all provisions of the comprehensive 25-year agreement between the two countries and can pursue purposeful and intelligent pragmatism by establishing the necessary mechanisms.
In turn, President Xi emphasized China’s readiness to develop future-oriented relations with Iran, stating: “Accelerating the implementation of previous agreements between our two countries, including those reached during our meeting in Kazan, is now under consideration. China is prepared and eager to broaden cooperation with Iran in various sectors.”
