Storm Amy Live: London’s Royal Parks Closed Amid Strong Winds; Scotland Faces Power Cuts and Travel Disruptions
Rokna Social Desk: All of London’s royal parks have been closed on Saturday due to strong winds from Storm Amy, while Scotland is facing power outages and travel disruptions. Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious, and emergency services remain on high alert.

According to Rokna, citing The Guardian, severe weather and flood warnings remain in place across the UK and Ireland as Storm Amy continues to batter the region, claiming at least one life.
All eight of London’s royal parks, including Hyde Park and Richmond Park, will be closed on Saturday, October 4, due to strong wind gusts. The Royal Parks, in a statement on its website, confirmed that Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens will also be closed.
The closures affect all park roads and cycleways, cafes and kiosks, sports venues, the Serpentine Lido and boating lake, as well as the Royal Parks shop. Opening times on Sunday may be delayed as safety inspections are carried out.
“The safety of visitors and staff is our top priority,” the Royal Parks said. “We’re sorry for any inconvenience that these closures may cause.”
In Scotland, the storm has led to widespread power cuts and travel disruptions, while authorities have urged residents across the UK and Ireland to exercise caution. Emergency services are on high alert as weather conditions remain hazardous.
