North Korea Supports Russia in the Ukraine War
Rokna Political Desk: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in his New Year’s message to Vladimir Putin, described the cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow in the Ukraine war as a “shared blood, life, and death.”
According to Rokna’s translation team, the message, released by North Korea’s state news agency (KCNA), emphasized the importance of the bilateral alliance between the two countries in 2025 and the strengthening of their strategic relations.
In his message, Kim Jong-un referred to the military cooperation between the two nations as the result of standing together in “the same trench” and spoke of continuing synergy toward common objectives.
Previously, North Korea had confirmed that it had deployed forces to support Russian military operations, with some personnel reportedly losing their lives during their missions. Additionally, Pyongyang stated that, as part of bilateral cooperation, it had sent forces to certain areas of Russia for mine-clearing operations.
Overall, these actions indicate an expansion of military and security cooperation between North Korea and Russia in recent years.
