Kim Jong Un Unveils North Korea’s First 5,000-Ton + Video

According to Rokna, citing Chosun Daily, Kim inspected the newly built destroyer during his visit to North Korea’s military equipment exhibition on Sunday. The warship, Choi Hyun-ho, marks a significant milestone in the expansion of North Korea’s naval fleet.

State media images and footage showed Kim touring the destroyer’s control room, where an electronic map displayed the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the Yellow Sea. Analysts interpret this display as a symbolic message highlighting North Korea’s naval readiness and its potential capability to target vessels along the maritime border.

During the ceremony, Kim stressed that the navy must fully enhance its deterrence, response, and punitive capabilities against enemy provocations. He reiterated the importance of developing a powerful maritime force as part of the country’s broader defense modernization strategy.
