U.S. Fighter Jets Patrol Near Venezuela’s Gulf Amid Regional Tensions
Rokna Political Desk: The U.S. Navy has confirmed that F/A-18 fighter jets from the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford conducted flights over the Caribbean Sea and in proximity to Venezuela as part of Operation Southern Spear.
According to Rokna, the U.S. Navy stated in a Tuesday night announcement regarding the aircraft’s flights near Venezuela: “The jets of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford are conducting flight operations over the Caribbean Sea. U.S. military forces in the region are deployed in support of Operation Southern Spear under the direction of the Department of Defense to protect the homeland in this area.”

Earlier, several aviation sources had reported that two U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets, accompanied by a U.S. strike fighter squadron, had flown over the Gulf of Venezuela, approximately 20 miles off the Venezuelan coast.
A photo was also released showing the patrol route of the U.S. fighter jets over the Gulf of Venezuela.
