The U.S. Deployment of a Military Fleet to Venezuela’s Shores Is a Dangerous Precedent Threatening Global Peace and Security
Rokna Political Desk: The President, while sharply criticizing and condemning the unlawful actions of the United States in the Caribbean region, said: The U.S. government’s deployment of a military fleet to the Caribbean and the shores of Venezuela under baseless pretexts is entirely illegal, a violation of international norms, and a dangerous precedent in threatening global peace and security, and the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns it.
According to the Government Information Center, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and Mr. Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela, on Tuesday evening, December 8, 2025, held a telephone conversation during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Caribbean region.
In this conversation, Dr. Pezeshkian referred to the principle of strategic unity and enduring friendship between Iran and Venezuela, pointing to the deep bonds between the two countries and nations, and said: The Islamic Republic of Iran considers Venezuela its true friend and ally and supports this country under all circumstances, especially in the current sensitive situation.
The President further declared Iran’s support for the independence, security and stability of Venezuela, stating: We are closely monitoring developments in the Caribbean region and U.S. movements and express our full solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela.
Dr. Pezeshkian also sharply criticized and condemned the unlawful actions of the United States in the Caribbean region, emphasizing: The U.S. government’s deployment of a military fleet to the Caribbean and the shores of Venezuela under baseless pretexts is entirely illegal, violates international norms, and sets a dangerous precedent in threatening global peace and security, and the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns it.
The President, stressing Iran’s readiness to expand comprehensive cooperation with Venezuela, said: We appreciate Venezuela’s support in international arenas and consider ourselves obliged to support the friendly and brotherly country and people of Venezuela. Iran is fully prepared to expand cooperation with Venezuela in all fields.
Dr. Pezeshkian, referring to the role of unity and national determination of the Venezuelan people in overcoming challenges, added: We believe that with the unity, cohesion and solidarity of the Venezuelan nation, the current difficulties will be overcome, and the more united the people are, the more discouraged their enemies will become.
The President also wished the government and people of Venezuela growth, progress, peace and security in the new Gregorian year.
The President of Venezuela, in this telephone conversation, expressed gratitude for the constant support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the government and people of his country, stating: Our nations have always been united, and over many years, through establishing strong relations, have presented a model of friendly relations for peace, cooperation and development.
Referring to recent tensions in the Caribbean region, the Venezuelan President described U.S. actions as provocative, unnecessary and contrary to the UN Charter, adding: The false accusations of the United States against the noble people of Venezuela have been met with rejection by global public opinion, even within the United States, as well as firm opposition from our people.
Maduro, emphasizing the unity, cohesion and determination of the Venezuelan people to defend peace, independence and counter U.S. disinformation, said: I assure you that the Venezuelan people today are stronger and more united than before, and each day are more prepared to achieve peace and victory; we will continue on the path of development and progress.
The President of Venezuela also conveyed his warm greetings to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the honorable people of Iran, reaffirming the continuation of strategic cooperation between Tehran and Caracas, and added: We will seriously continue and strengthen our relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The two countries will remain in constant contact and will work to achieve peace and development, and this is our shared responsibility.
