Israeli Media Claim: Israeli Fighter Jets Approached Iran’s Border Last Night

According to Rokna, the news platform “J-Feed” claimed in its report that the flight of Israeli fighter jets over Iraq was accompanied by sonic booms. According to the same report, the Israeli aircraft likely conducted simulated firing exercises during this operation.

Citing Euronews, “J-Feed” writes that the fighter jets returned to Israel unharmed, but describes the mission as a “dangerous gamble” that could have triggered another confrontation with Iran.

The report states that local residents in eastern Iraq, particularly in Maysan Province and near the city of Amarah, heard the sound of fighter jets and sonic booms.

Iraq’s Maysan Province borders Iran’s Ilam and Khuzestan provinces.

According to “J-Feed,” at the same time as this operation, U.S. Air Force KC-135 refueling aircraft were spotted near the Iraq–Iran border before heading toward Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

The news platform claims that this reconnaissance operation was conducted to assess Iran’s defensive capabilities amid rising regional tensions.
