The Kremlin: A Call Between Putin and Trump Can Be Arranged Immediately

According to Rokna, citing TASS news agency, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, announced today (Saturday) that the issue of the necessity of dialogue between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump — as well as the form of contacts proposed by Washington to resolve the Ukraine conflict — remains open.

He added: “All of these matters can be discussed, and if necessary, a telephone call between the leaders of the two countries can be coordinated and organized very quickly.”

Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with members of Russia’s Security Council, stated that he is prepared to review the detailed 28-point plan proposed by the United States for resolving the Ukraine conflict.

At the same time, he did not specify at what level such contacts would be arranged, nor whether a personal conversation with the U.S. president would be necessary.

The Russian president confirmed that the proposed plan from the American side had been received, adding: “We now have this text in our possession, and we received it through existing communication channels with the U.S. government.”

According to him, the plan has not yet been discussed substantively with the Russian side because Kyiv does not agree with it.

Nevertheless, Putin emphasized that this document could serve as “a basis for a final and peaceful settlement of the conflict.”

He added: “Regarding all of these issues [the details of Russia–U.S. talks in Anchorage], we have fully informed all our friends and partners in the Global South. All of our friends and partners — I want to stress this, without exception — have supported these potential agreements.”

According to him, Russia has informed China, India, North Korea, South Africa, Brazil, the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and many others about the details of this peace plan.

Russia’s Emphasis on Readiness for Flexibility in Resolving the Ukraine Issue

Vladimir Putin recalled that during the summit in Alaska, Russia confirmed its readiness to demonstrate flexibility on the issue of resolving the Ukraine conflict — as Washington had requested.

He added: “The main goal of the summit in Anchorage was to confirm during the talks that despite some difficult and complex matters, we agree with these proposals and are prepared to demonstrate our flexibility in accepting reasonable suggestions.”

At the same time, Putin stressed that Russia is ready to enter negotiations, but from Moscow’s perspective, developments on the front lines and Kyiv’s refusal to settle the conflict are pushing the situation toward achieving the goals of the special military operation by military means.

The Russian president warned Kyiv and Europe: “If Kyiv does not want to consider President Trump’s proposal and refuses it, both they and the European warmongers must understand that the events that occurred in Kupiansk will inevitably be repeated on other key fronts.”

Putin added: “Overall, such a development of the situation will be acceptable for us, because it brings us closer to achieving the objectives of the special military operation through military means on the battlefield. However, despite this, we are ready for peace negotiations and for resolving issues through peaceful means — but this naturally requires a detailed review of all sections of the proposed plan. We are prepared for this.”

The Russian president noted that the Ukrainian leadership either does not possess accurate information about the situation on the battlefield, or, if it does, it is unable to make an objective assessment of the situation.
