Latest Developments in Iran’s Nuclear File Discussed in Phone Call Between Araghchi and Grossi
Rokna Political Desk: Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its Foreign Minister held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear file and cooperation between Tehran and the Agency.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry reported that its Foreign Minister conducted a phone consultation with Iran’s Foreign Minister and the IAEA Director General regarding the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear file and ongoing cooperation between Tehran and the Agency.
According to Rokna, in a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said: Within the framework of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and strengthen regional security and stability, Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, held a phone call with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to review the latest developments in Iran’s nuclear file.
According to Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper, during these calls, the existing cooperation framework between Iran and the IAEA regarding the nuclear file was discussed and reviewed.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to reduce tensions, build trust, and create conducive conditions for the continuation of cooperation, thereby providing a genuine opportunity for diplomatic solutions and the resumption of dialogue.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s statement further noted that the latest developments related to the upcoming IAEA Board of Governors meeting were also reviewed during the call. Abdelatty stressed the importance of continuing dialogue within the framework of multilateral mechanisms, through which the nuclear non-proliferation regime at both regional and international levels would be strengthened, and global security and stability enhanced.
Separately, the IAEA Director General commended the Egyptian President’s efforts to expand the peaceful use of nuclear energy, particularly the Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant project, emphasizing that this project represents a model of cooperation and coordination between countries and the Agency, and contributes to advancing national development goals.
