U.S. secret plan to govern Gaza after Hamas collapse
Rokna Political Desk: The United States is reportedly drafting a plan to administer Gaza following the fall of Hamas, under which international forces would play a central role.
According to media outlets including Axios, Washington is preparing a framework for post-Hamas governance in Gaza.
As reported by Rokna, the U.S.-based news outlet Axios revealed details of this American plan for managing Gaza after Hamas.
Gaza to be administered by international forces
Axios reported that, according to a copy obtained by the outlet, the United States on Monday sent a draft resolution to several members of the UN Security Council proposing the deployment of an international force for at least two years.
The report emphasized that the draft resolution, labeled “sensitive but unclassified,” would grant the U.S. and participating countries broad authority to govern Gaza and ensure its security until the end of 2027, with the possibility of extension beyond that date.
According to Axios, a U.S. official told the outlet that the draft serves as a basis for discussions among Security Council members in the coming days, with the goal of voting on the deployment of international forces in the coming weeks and sending the first troops by January.
The American official stressed that this International Security Force (ISF) would be an executive body rather than a peacekeeping mission.
Gaza’s readiness to hand over administration
Meanwhile, Turkish media reported statements by the country’s Foreign Minister indicating Hamas’s readiness to hand over Gaza’s administration. The news outlet “Turkey Today” reported that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, following a high-level meeting in Istanbul on the situation in Gaza, announced that Hamas, which currently controls the Gaza Strip, is prepared to transfer administrative authority to a Palestinian committee.
According to Turkey Today, the meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, as well as representatives from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, to discuss the ongoing ceasefire and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The Turkish Foreign Minister, noting that Israel has killed 250 Palestinians even after the ceasefire, stated that Turkey is ready to make sacrifices in pursuit of peace, while emphasizing that any action must take place within a defined framework.
