The operation, conducted in June 2025, was described by Col. Josh Wiitala, commander of the 509th Bomb Wing, as “the biggest moment of my career,” highlighting both the mission’s significance and the safety of his team.

Maj. Gen. Jason Armagost, who received the strike order from the President, emphasized the critical role of stealth technology in the operation. He noted that radar evasion remains as crucial as ever in modern military engagements, and the ability to maintain secrecy ensured the strategic advantage of the bombers.
