Pakistani Activists Condemn Live Broadcast of Trump’s Speech in Israeli Parliament

According to Rokna, political commentator and former Pakistani Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari, described the live broadcast as “shocking and shameful.” She emphasized: “In Pakistan, we do not recognize rogue Israel; how can we then broadcast live sessions of this terrorist regime’s parliament?”

Mazari further questioned whether the world has forgotten the ongoing genocide of Palestinians carried out by Israel.

Social media activist Nader Baloch noted that, for the first time in history, Pakistani media aired a U.S. president’s speech live from the Israeli parliament.

The Imamia Students Organization also condemned the broadcast as “shameful,” stating that it runs counter to the ideals of the Muslim Ummah and the principled ideology of Pakistan in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Grand Mufti of Pakistan, Muhammad Taqi Usmani, criticized the broadcast in the context of the Sharm El-Sheikh conference, noting that nearly 70,000 people in Gaza sacrificed their lives to keep the Palestinian issue alive. He accused Trump of siding with Israel’s genocide of Gaza, vetoing UN Security Council ceasefire resolutions, and fully legitimizing Israel by moving the U.S. embassy to occupied Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen party issued a statement calling for strict action by the country’s media regulatory authority against television networks that aired Trump’s speech. The statement argued that broadcasting the Israeli parliament session represents not only “the height of journalistic immorality” but also “an open rebellion against Pakistan’s ideological identity, the foreign policy principles of the country’s late founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the collective position of the Muslim Ummah.”

The party emphasized that Jinnah had clearly stated, “Palestine belongs to Muslims, and we cannot accept Zionist control under any circumstances.” Ignoring this historic principled stance and airing the Israeli parliament session, they argued, undermines Pakistan’s ideology, constitutional spirit, and national pride.

The statement warned that the public, journalists, and religious and political stakeholders must remain vigilant, as any attempt to legitimize Israel would contradict the very foundations of Pakistan, based on faith in God and unity.

Shaher Haider Malik, head of the Pakistan Ideology Party, addressed officials of the networks that aired the speech, urging: “Do not turn Pakistan into an American colony. By whose permission did you broadcast Israel’s parliament session live?” He also criticized Trump’s remarks against Iran and the resistance front, calling for accountability and resignations from those responsible for the broadcast.

Finally, Saber Abu Maryam, Secretary-General of the Palestine Foundation in Karachi, condemned the live airing of Trump’s speech, stressing that Pakistan’s historical stance on Palestine and its rejection of the illegal establishment of Israel remains a guiding principle for both the state and its people, and any action against this position is “shameful and doomed to fail.”

The Sharm El-Sheikh peace conference, attended by leaders and representatives from over 20 countries, took place yesterday and resulted in the signing of an agreement between Hamas and Israel.
