Manchester Synagogue Attack Sparks Outcry as Government Criticises Pro-Palestine Marches

According to Rokna, authorities have officially identified the two people killed in the recent attack on a synagogue in Manchester as Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66.

The incident took place during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, when an assailant drove a vehicle into worshippers outside the synagogue before carrying out a stabbing attack. The attacker, identified as Jihad al-Shamie, was shot dead by police at the scene.

In the aftermath, the Home Secretary condemned pro-Palestinian marches that took place, calling them “un-British” and urging organizers to reconsider holding such events so soon after the tragedy. Security forces reported around 40 arrests, including individuals accused of assaulting officers.

Officials stressed that the demonstrations diverted police resources at a time of heightened security concerns, while leaders of the Jewish community described the timing as deeply hurtful.

Calls are growing from political and religious figures for unity and stronger measures to protect Jewish communities in the UK.
