Guterres Again Calls for End to War and Ceasefire in Ukraine

According to Rokna, Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN, stated on Thursday that the Secretary-General condemns Russia’s nighttime attacks on Ukrainian cities, which have resulted in the death and injury of a number of civilians, including children. He added that these attacks have also caused damage to diplomatic buildings and offices in Kyiv.

Dujarric emphasized that attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law, are unacceptable, and must end immediately.

According to the UN spokesperson, Guterres reiterated his call for a ceasefire that would lead to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in Ukraine—a peace that, in accordance with the UN Charter, international law, and relevant resolutions, upholds the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
