Wall Street Journal Reporter:
I See No Way the “Snapback Mechanism” Will Not Be Activated
Rokna Political Desk: A Wall Street Journal reporter wrote: “The theoretical deadline is September 15. In reality, they want this to happen earlier so that Russia’s presidency of the Security Council cannot complicate it. Therefore, by the end of August. It is very likely to happen in the coming days.”

Laurence Norman, reporter for the Wall Street Journal, wrote on the social network X: “Ahead of today’s (Tuesday) negotiations in Geneva, one reason for the low expectations is the current state of Iran–IAEA talks.
He added: “To highlight the gap, Iran wants a new Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA) with more limited rights for the Agency. The International Atomic Energy Agency sees this as a red line. Any future agreement will require more oversight, not less. This will not change this week. And there remains a very long way to go before inspectors are again allowed access to sites and monitoring of stockpiles. Therefore, I see no way the ‘snapback mechanism’ will not be activated.”
