Trump: Remember October 7 / A Disaster Is Imminent

According to Euronews, Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, said he does not believe Hamas will release the hostages under the current circumstances. Although he did not directly support Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for full occupation of Gaza, he appeared to agree with Netanyahu’s reasoning regarding the necessity of applying greater military pressure on Hamas.

Despite the international outcry over Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza—especially given the current humanitarian crisis in the region—Donald Trump has decided not to intervene and to allow Israel to proceed according to its own judgment.

Trump emphasized that Israel itself should decide on the next steps and whether to allow Hamas to remain in the Gaza Strip, but in his view, “Hamas should not stay there.”

The former U.S. president said, “One thing I want to say: remember October 7, remember October 7.”

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that leaders of the United States and Israel discussed in a phone call “Israel’s plans to take control of the remaining Hamas positions in Gaza in order to end the war through the release of hostages and the defeat of Hamas.”

Netanyahu said he has instructed the Israeli army to prepare a plan for the “complete takeover” of Gaza City.

According to Israeli officials, the process of planning and evacuating Palestinian civilians from Gaza City could take several weeks, which may provide an opportunity to reach a ceasefire agreement and release hostages before the operation begins.

Disaster on the Verge

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, described Israel’s plan as “a disaster on the verge of happening” and a move toward “an endless war.”

In a statement, Macron said: “The Israeli cabinet’s announcement of expanding operations in Gaza City and the Muawiya and Beit Hanoun refugee camps, and re-occupying these areas, signals an unprecedented worsening disaster and a reckless rush toward an endless war.”

The French president stressed: “Israeli hostages and the people of Gaza will continue to be the primary victims of this strategy.”

Emmanuel Macron also proposed forming an international coalition under a United Nations mandate to stabilize the situation in Gaza. He stated that the UN mission should be responsible for ensuring security in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, and supporting Palestinian governance. He added that the UN Security Council must take action to establish this mission.

The president said: “I have instructed my teams to work with our partners on this matter without delay.”
