Bahram Beyzai was born on 26 December 1938 (5 Dey 1317 in the Iranian calendar) in Tehran. The Beyzai family has been involved in art and literature for generations. For example, his father, Mirza Ne’matollah Beyzai Arani, known by the pen name “Zekai,” was the youngest brother of the literary figure Adib Beyzai. However, the family’s artistic heritage did not guarantee a comfortable life, and Beyzai’s childhood was marked by poverty and hardship.
