According to Rokna, Morteza Sabbagh, a well-known and veteran street theater artist of Isfahan Province, passed away on the morning of 10 Azar 1404, after suffering from an illness, leaving the artistic community of Isfahan in fresh mourning.
He was born on 20 October 1972 and devoted more than four decades of his life to the art of performance.
The late Sabbagh began his artistic career at the age of 15 under the mentorship of Jamshid Esmail-Khani, and later, through collaboration and training with other prominent figures such as Mohammad-Ali Miandar and Mehdi Shehdad, further refined his artistic path.
His remarkable performance in the play "Siavash," the enduring work of Master Ebrahim Karimi, at the Iran-Zamin Festival, the Fajr Festival, and other national events, stands among the most significant milestones of his career.
Sabbagh was one of the distinguished figures in Takht-Houzi performances, Siyah-Bazi, storytelling, Moukhalef-Khani, and Ta'zieh, possessing exceptional mastery of the academic and foundational techniques of these traditional arts.
He was also considered the record-holder for the highest number of performances and appearances in street theater in Isfahan Province, with many regarding him as one of the pillars of Isfahan’s street theater scene.
His memory and valuable works will remain embedded in the cultural legacy of Isfahan theater.
