Deadly Execution of Diristan Youth by Taliban Over Mobile Gaming
Rokna Social Desk: Taliban fighters in Kapisa Province have executed a young man by firing squad for playing the mobile game PUBG. This incident, which occurred due to the Taliban’s ban on the game, has sparked widespread outrage among local residents.

According to Rokna, a tragic and heartbreaking report has emerged from one of the areas of Kapisa Province. Local sources have confirmed that the Taliban killed a young man by gunfire for playing the mobile game PUBG.
How Did the Incident Happen?
According to the Afghan daily 8 Sobh, the incident took place in the village of Diristan, in central Kapisa. The victim, named Jalal, had gone to an elevated area near his home to play the mobile game, as the internet connection was weak in his area. Poor internet quality was cited as the main reason for his presence at the site.
Why Did the Taliban Open Fire?
Based on local sources, when Taliban forces approached Jalal, he refused to hand over his mobile phone. The Taliban have declared the game banned and enforce strict measures against those who play it. Jalal’s refusal prompted the Taliban fighters to execute him by firing squad.
Reaction of the Victim’s Family
A local source also stated that Jalal’s brother, upon witnessing the violent act, attempted to attack the Taliban fighters with a hunting rifle. However, during the clash, he was shot in the leg and subsequently arrested by the Taliban.
Similar Incidents in the Past
These sources claim that last year, in the same area, the Taliban also executed two other young men for playing mobile games. Such cases have heightened concerns over the group’s severe punitive measures.
