New Passport Regulations for Married Women Announced by Police

According to Rokna, Colonel Omid Nodehi elaborated on police services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, stating: "Based on coordinated planning, representatives of the Immigration Police will be stationed in service offices located in the four cities of Kadhimiya, Karbala, Najaf, and Samarra." These offices will assist pilgrims who may face issues such as lost passports, require police consultation, or are dealing with missing companions.

Exit Requirements for Military Conscripts and Absentees

Colonel Nodehi explained the use of pilgrimage passports for different categories of military service: "Conscripts who are absent without official leave cannot benefit from these services and must first settle their military status." However, students, seminary students, and school pupils who need to leave the country can obtain this permit through the Sakha system without the need to provide collateral.

Soldiers currently in service must obtain a letter of consent from their military unit and present it to the Immigration Police so the necessary procedures for passport issuance can be carried out.

Spousal Consent for Married Women’s Passport Issuance

Colonel Nodehi addressed the issue of passport issuance for married women, noting: "If a woman had previously submitted a consent letter from her husband to obtain a passport, and the husband has not since withdrawn his approval, the same consent remains valid, and there is no need to provide a new document."

Recommendations for Arbaeen Pilgrims

The police official also advised pilgrims: "Given the approach of the Arbaeen season, it is recommended that citizens take early action in obtaining their passports. Utilizing online systems will expedite procedures and eliminate the need for in-person visits."

He further emphasized: "If applicants encounter problems during the submission process or receive messages such as 'Need to Visit' or 'Under Review,' they can visit the relevant office after three to four days to have the issue addressed by the appropriate specialists."
