Egyptian General: Controversial Remarks by US Ambassador in Tel Aviv Are Racist

According to Rokna, citing Shehab News Agency, the Egyptian general said in a statement on Sunday that “the impact of these remarks is not limited to Egypt’s security, but extends to the entire Arab national security, especially Saudi Arabia, which, according to Huckabee’s claim, would lose one-third of its territory.”

He noted that these statements have sparked widespread dissatisfaction across the Arab and Islamic world, with numerous countries condemning them.

Farag called on Donald Trump, President of the United States, to “take action against this man in order to mitigate the consequences of these remarks in the Arab world.”

The Egyptian general stated: “Egypt is well aware of its borders as defined in the Camp David Accords, and no one is permitted to violate them.” He added that the “Greater Israel” project is nothing but a lie that Egypt ignores, despite such claims having been raised for years, since the time of Ben-Gurion.

He emphasized that his country possesses a strong army capable of effectively securing its borders and that “no one in Israel has the right to alter these borders.” The Arab Republic of Egypt condemned the remarks of Mike Huckabee, the United States ambassador.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the remarks attributed to Huckabee “include claims regarding Israel’s right to territories belonging to Arab countries, which constitutes a clear violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”

Egypt’s ministry expressed surprise at the statements, saying they contradict the vision presented by Donald Trump and the twenty points related to ending the war in the Gaza Strip, as well as the Peace Council conference held on Thursday in Washington.

Egypt reiterated that “Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other Arab land” and stressed its categorical rejection of any attempt to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, as well as its rejection of expanding settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Arab and Islamic governments have condemned the remarks of the US ambassador to Israel, who said that Israel, based on the Bible, has the right to seize a vast portion of the Middle East.

In response to a question by conservative host Tucker Carlson on whether Israel has sovereignty over a vast area “effectively encompassing the entire Middle East,” Mike Huckabee said: “If it takes all of it, that’s fine.”

More than 12 countries, including Jordan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, described the remarks in a joint statement as “dangerous and provocative” and a threat to efforts aimed at ending the Gaza war.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also condemned the remarks of “Mike Huckabee,” the US ambassador in Tel Aviv, regarding the permissibility of the Zionist regime’s seizure of Arab-Islamic lands “from the Nile to the Euphrates.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson wrote early Sunday, 3 Esfand 1404, on the X social network, referring to the statement issued by the Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in this regard: The Islamic Republic of Iran, in unison with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, condemns these “extremist ideological rhetorics”; remarks that further embolden the occupying regime in continuing its crimes against Palestinians and its ongoing aggressions against countries in the region.
