Iraqchi Refused to Open U.S. Letter During Talks and Returned It / Some Advise Trump to Refrain from Attacking Iran for Now

According to Rokna, the news outlet Axios reported that Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, stated on Saturday that several individuals close to President Trump have advised him against bombing Iran. Graham urged the president not to follow this advice.

A source familiar with the negotiations stated that when Omani intermediaries delivered an envelope from the U.S. during a session—which included proposals regarding missiles—Araghchi refused even to open it and returned it.

The report further notes that while two aircraft carriers and hundreds of fighter jets are being readied for what could become a major military operation, senior Trump advisors told Axios that the president has not yet made a final decision.

Military options have been presented to him, but his team is simultaneously demonstrating limited flexibility in talks with Iran.

A senior official told Axios that the United States will consider a proposal from Iran that includes a “symbolic” level of uranium enrichment, provided that it ensures no pathway exists toward bomb production.

Graham, who is close to Trump, leads the pro-attack faction within the president’s inner circle.

Earlier this week, Graham traveled to the Middle East and met with leaders from Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to discuss Iran.

Graham said: “I understand concerns regarding large-scale military operations in the Middle East, given past conflicts. However, voices warning against intervention seem to overlook the consequences of leaving malign actors unchecked.”

Following his recent trip, Graham stated that he believes there is an opportunity to “effect historic change” in Iran.

He added: “But it becomes increasingly clear to me that voices cautioning against involvement and the risks associated with decisive action are growing louder. Time will tell how this process unfolds.”

Graham continued: “I have great respect for President Trump. He is an independent individual. Like all presidents, he will be accountable for his decisions in such critical matters. As for myself, history will clearly show where I stood, for better or worse.”

Some of Trump’s advisors are urging him to refrain from military action for now, continuing to leverage the threat of force to secure concessions in negotiations.

There are also doubts within Trump’s inner circle about the wisdom of initiating a regime-change operation in Iran.
