Military Analysis: Trump Concerned About Prolonged Conflict with Iran
Rokna Political Desk: A military analyst suggests that concerns over a protracted conflict and depletion of defensive missile stockpiles could become a limiting factor in Donald Trump’s decision-making when dealing with Iran.
According to Rokna, Samir Ragheb, a military and strategic analyst, in a recent assessment claimed that one of Donald Trump’s main weaknesses regarding Iran is concern over the potential prolongation of any military engagement.
Ragheb noted that recent regional conflicts have demonstrated that continued warfare can place significant pressure on the military stockpiles of the United States and its allies. Referring to Washington’s support for Israel, he stated that missile defense systems used in recent conflicts, including battles related to the Gaza Strip, have consumed a portion of their missile reserves.
The analyst emphasized that a reduction in these reserves, if the conflict continues, could become a strategic challenge, as producing interceptor missiles involves multi-billion-dollar costs and is a time-consuming process.
Ragheb believes that these logistical and economic considerations make a prolonged war a deterrent factor in U.S. political and military decision-making—a factor that could influence Washington’s approach to tensions with Iran.
