Russian Embassy in Tehran Remains Operational
Rokna Political Desk: The Russian Ambassador to Tehran, emphasizing the continued operation of his country’s embassy, described Western pressure against Iran as the result of efforts to impose neo-colonial approaches.
Alexey Dedov, Russia’s Ambassador to Iran, stated that the main cause of the crisis in diplomatic relations between Iran and Western countries is the attempt to compel Iran to comply with the neo-colonial approaches of the United States of America and the European Union. He said: In pursuit of this objective, Western countries are employing a range of instruments, including numerous and illegal sanctions, interference in Iran’s internal affairs, coercive measures, and military-political pressure.
According to Rokna, citing RT, he added: At present, irresponsible calls continue to be made by the West and also by Ukraine — notably — for the adoption of various measures against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including coercive actions, which are entirely unacceptable and rejected. Various pretexts are used for such actions, ranging from claims of supporting protesters to efforts aimed at dismantling Iran’s missile program.
The Russian Ambassador stressed that Russia firmly rejects any destructive interference by third countries in Iran’s internal affairs, which constitutes a clear violation of the fundamental principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Dedov further stated that the Russian Embassy continues its activities as normal and, in the event of any emergency circumstances, stands ready to provide comprehensive and prompt support to Russian citizens residing in Iran.
