Trump: I Prefer a Deal — A Good Deal; No Nuclear Weapon, No Missiles, Not This, Not That!
Rokna Political Desk: Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, in an interview with Fox News announced that he prefers the negotiations with Iran to result in an agreement and referred to Iran’s willingness to negotiate.
According to Rokna, he said for the several time in recent days: “They (Iran) want to make a deal.”
The President of the United States said Tuesday evening local time in an interview with the Fox News network: “They want to make a deal. They weren’t willing to negotiate with anybody else, but they are talking to me.”
Trump, repeating his contradictory claims and statements, and referring to the presence of the American “fleet” regarding the 12-day war of the United States and Israel against Iran’s nuclear capability, despite intelligence assessments, claimed: “Last time we destroyed their nuclear capability.”
Stating that Iran seeks to reach an agreement, and repeating excessive demands despite the fact that officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have repeatedly rejected these demands, he added: “I say I would prefer a deal. It will be a good deal; no nuclear weapon, no missiles, not this, not that.”
In response to a question about the durability of an agreement with Iran, he claimed: “I really don’t know. But one thing I do know is that they want to make a deal. They weren’t willing to negotiate with anybody else, but they are talking to me. Many people say no.”
Trump, while after the fifth round of negotiations in June 2025 (23 Khordad) following Israel’s attack joined the aggression of that regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran and demonstrated Washington’s lack of honesty in the midst of negotiations to the world, accused Tehran of dishonesty and once again attacked the nuclear agreement known as the JCPOA, which was concluded during the presidency of Barack Obama and from which he withdrew during his first term.
The JCPOA was one of the most foolish agreements I have ever seen in my life
The Republican President of the United States claimed: “Obama and Biden did a terrible job by turning Iran into a monster. The JCPOA was one of the most foolish agreements I have ever seen in my life.”
Trump had previously, in an exclusive interview with the Axios website, said that he expects the second round of negotiations between the United States and Iran to be held next week. Trump said Tuesday local time in an interview with this American–Israeli website that he is optimistic about the diplomatic path and claimed that Iran is “very eager to reach a deal.”
The new round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States was held on Friday, 17 Bahman 1404 (February 6, 2026) in Muscat with the mediation of the Sultanate of Oman.
In this round of talks, the negotiating delegations of Iran and the United States conveyed a set of their views, considerations, and approaches to each other through Badr Al-Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman. Both sides described the talks as “good” and expressed their willingness to continue these discussions.
