Ayatollah Khamenei’s Leadership Beyond National Borders

According to Rokna, David Hearst, founder and editor-in-chief of Middle East Eye, stated in a video analysis, while referring to the standing of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the role of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that any tension-provoking action against Tehran could have serious consequences.
In his analysis, Hearst emphasized that Iran cannot be compared to countries such as Venezuela, noting that the structure of power in the Islamic Republic has different and more complex dimensions. According to him, Ayatollah Khamenei is not merely the head of state or the commander-in-chief of Iran’s armed forces, but as the highest political and religious authority, he holds a position that extends beyond Iran’s geographical borders.
The editor-in-chief of Middle East Eye pointed to the spiritual influence of the Leader of the Islamic Republic among Shiite communities worldwide, describing this status as a key factor in regional and international equations.
He also warned Donald Trump that before making any decision regarding Iran, he should take into account history and the consequences of similar actions in the past, in order to avoid what he described as “the most costly foreign policy mistake."
