Video | Iran’s Key Weapons and Tactics in a War With US Aircraft Carriers

According to Rokna, western officials told a US media outlet that Persian Gulf countries, amid pressure from the administration of US President Donald Trump against Iran, are warning American officials that Iran’s missile program is capable of causing significant damage to US interests in the region.

The Washington Post reported that these officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that according to an assessment by one of Washington’s allies in the Persian Gulf, Iran’s missile program, despite sustaining damage during the 12-day war with Israel in June 2025, has remained largely intact in key areas, and other capabilities have also been rebuilt.

As peaceful livelihood-related protests by the Iranian public and various professional groups took shape in January, which Tehran stated were turned into unrest and destruction on January 8 and 9 by terrorist elements supported by the United States and the Zionist regime, the US president claimed that if protesters were fired upon, he would come to their aid.

In recent days, he threatened that Iran must either seize the opportunity for negotiations or face US military strikes, while announcing the deployment of a US Navy aircraft carrier strike group to West Asia.

Iran Is Seriously Engaged in Talks With the United States

Although Trump claimed yesterday that Iran is seriously engaged in negotiations with the United States and that his administration’s plan is to negotiate with Iran.

The US media outlet continued by writing that an Iranian diplomat said Tehran welcomes negotiations based on mutual respect, but will not participate in talks conducted under US military threats.

This diplomat told The Washington Post: “No negotiations are possible under the current circumstances. Trump’s conditions for negotiations are unrealistic and non-negotiable.”

In addition to demanding the halt of Iran’s nuclear program—a demand Tehran has rejected, stating that under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to which it is a signatory, it has the right to enrichment and the peaceful use of nuclear energy—the Trump administration is now calling for restrictions on Iran’s missile program and an end to its support for regional resistance groups, which it refers to as Iran’s “proxy groups.”

One Western official said that the nature of Iran’s confrontation with the United States changed significantly after Trump issued a message in support of the rioters. According to The Washington Post, Iran now views a potential conflict with the United States as an existential threat.

Iran Is Capable of Launching Devastating Attacks Against US Allies in the Region

The report further stated that Iran, which during the 12-day war targeted the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar with ballistic missiles in response to a US military attack on its nuclear facilities, has demonstrated to US allies in the region that it is capable of carrying out devastating attacks in the Persian Gulf. This time, such attacks would not be calibrated like the strike on Al Udeid, nor would advance warnings be given.

According to an assessment by one of the countries in the region, Iran has preserved its shorter-range munitions, launchers, and parts of its missile production systems. These munitions are capable of reaching US interests in the Persian Gulf, including dozens of military bases and tens of thousands of US troops.

According to the report, these capabilities are so threatening that some Persian Gulf states have taken steps to distance themselves from an increased US military presence in the region. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia stated last month that US forces would not use their territory or airspace in any operation.
