We Are Currently Negotiating With Iran
Trump: Talks With Iran Underway, Multiple Meetings Planned, Warning of Consequences if No Deal Reached
Rokna Political Desk: Donald Trump announced the start of negotiations with Iran this week and warned that serious consequences would follow if no agreement is reached.
Donald Trump, President of the United States, told reporters at the White House late last night: “Iran has shown readiness to negotiate, and discussions between us are currently underway.”
Start of Talks This Week
Trump went on to say that the negotiations will begin this week, adding: “We will have to see whether a positive outcome is achieved or not.”
He also claimed: “Iran previously had an opportunity to cooperate that did not succeed, and we were forced to carry out what was known as the ‘Midnight Hammer’ operation.”
Remarks on the Location of the Negotiations
Regarding the venue of the talks, the US president stated: “I cannot disclose the location of these negotiations, but I can say that there will be more than one meeting.”
Continuation of Contradictory Statements by Trump
Trump also said yesterday in remarks at the White House: “We have sent large ships toward Iran, and at the same time, talks with this country are underway. We have to wait and see where this process leads.”
He added: “If we can reach an agreement, that would be great. But if that does not happen, unpleasant consequences may be expected.”
Preference for an Agreement Through Negotiations
The US president once again expressed his desire to reach an agreement through negotiations, saying: “I would like to see an agreement reached this way. In any case, I do not know whether this will happen or not.”
Iran’s Response to the Negotiation Proposal
On Bahman 14, 1404 (February 3, 2026), Iran’s president stated that the foreign minister had been instructed to prepare the ground for fair negotiations within the framework of national interests.
Masoud Pezeshkian also announced on his social media account: “In response to requests by friendly governments in the region for negotiations with the United States, it has been emphasized that any dialogue must be pursued in an environment free of threats and based on the principles of dignity, wisdom, and expediency.”
