Member of Iran’s Parliamentary National Security Commission:
Disarming Hezbollah Would Be Catastrophic / Iran and the Axis of Resistance Will Not Remain Indifferent
Rokna Political Desk: A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Parliament, in an interview with Rokna, warned about the consequences of disarming Lebanon’s Hezbollah, saying that such a move would not only endanger Lebanon’s security but would also seriously disrupt the regional balance against the Zionist regime, and that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not remain passive in the face of such a scenario.
According to Rokna, Ali Ahmadi, the representative of Mamasani in the 12th Iranian Parliament, referring to recent developments in Lebanon and the issue of disarming Hezbollah, told Rokna’s reporter: Within Lebanon itself, there are serious disagreements over this issue; Lebanon’s president opposes the disarmament of Hezbollah, but the country’s prime minister, due to his dependence on Western parties including the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, holds a different view.
He added: The recent positions of Hezbollah’s secretary-general show that disarming this movement is by no means a simple or achievable matter, and if it were to happen, it would result in a major catastrophe for Lebanon and the region. Hezbollah is the only deterrent force that has stood against the aggressions of the Zionist regime, and Israel is fully aware of its power and deterrent role.
He emphasized: If Hezbollah is disarmed, the balance of power will shift sharply to Lebanon’s detriment, and the country could experience a situation far worse than that of Syria.
Referring to the positions taken by Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmadi said: The Lebanese foreign minister has adopted stances that show clear dependence on the West and even the Zionist regime, and unfortunately this approach led him to avoid holding a meeting with our country’s foreign minister.
He continued: Despite these conditions, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the country’s diplomatic apparatus are actively pursuing efforts to prevent the realization of such a dangerous scenario.
At the end, this member of the Parliament’s National Security Commission stressed: The issue of disarming Hezbollah is not merely an internal Lebanese matter; it has regional and international dimensions. For this reason, the Islamic Republic of Iran cannot remain indifferent to it, and the issue is being seriously followed by Iran as well as other members of the Axis of Resistance, including Iraq and Yemen.
