Zelensky: Ukraine Lacks Capability to Retake Lost Territories
Rokna Political Desk: Zelensky states that without support from allies, Ukraine cannot reclaim Crimea or other territories under Russian control.
The President of Ukraine acknowledged that his country does not possess the capability to retake Crimea or other territories currently under Russian control.
According to Rokna, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday evening: “Today, we do not have the power or the support of our allies to reclaim Crimea and other territories under Russian control.”
As reported by Russia Today, the Ukrainian president addressed his longstanding desire for Ukraine’s NATO membership, stating: “We truly want to join NATO, but we are fully aware that neither the United States nor several other countries currently envision Ukraine as part of this alliance.”
Zelensky also commented on the peace plan, stating: “Tomorrow, Ukraine intends to submit a peace plan to the United States; this plan is currently being finalized with European partners.”
He further claimed: “If Russia is also ready, Ukraine is prepared for a ceasefire in the energy sector.”
These remarks by the Ukrainian president come as the Financial Times, citing informed sources, reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has given Volodymyr Zelensky only “a few days” to respond to a U.S. peace proposal, which includes a territorial exchange with Russia.
