Pentagon Announces Timeline for Activation of the “Golden Dome”
Rokna Political Desk: The commander of the United States’ “Golden Dome” project has announced that this air and missile defense system will achieve initial operational capability by the summer of 2028. The system is designed to counter advanced ballistic missiles, hypersonic weapons, cruise missiles, drones, and even space-based threats.
According to Rokna, General Michael Guetlein of the U.S. Space Force stated that this system will not represent the final version in its initial phase.
He added that the technical details of the project remain classified, and the Pentagon has released only limited information about it. However, U.S. officials have confirmed that the Golden Dome will be built on a network of sensors, early-warning satellites, command systems, and interceptors, including interceptors deployed in space.

Estimates point to hundreds of billions of dollars in costs for this project, at a time when the future of the U.S. defense budget remains uncertain.
